picture-533ll-copysm.jpg

my most recent photos have been altered in photoshop a lot. I just tried out new techniques and as you can see, made some crazy-esk photos. simple things like the flowers and the one face and the cat , i made into colorful more out going pictures. I used type fonts, like in the cat photo, and contrasting, bold tools for the flowers. My favorite one though, the 4-peice multi-colored action shot. I like it a lot because it shows movement and emotion. Also, the repetition of the brick in the background make your eyes directly in focus with the main focal point.

With all of them, I tried to alter the norm a little. With the color balance and saturation as well as deepening the details. Overall i liked these photos and enjoyed altering them.

When I was given this task of retouching the athletic photos for CDO, I thought it would be easy but it turned out I was wrong. Besides all the repetition of cropping, typing font, using the stroke tool and colors, and making sure everything was neat and orderly, the little tasks consumed a lot of my time.  The communication and directions I received were from Carlie so whenever I had a problem I could/can ask her or Jake, who is also retouching pictures for CDO.  After were done retouching all the photos, we will mat and hang them in the Gym for display.. I think I did well in this task of retouching the photos I was given. When I got the hang of it, it was pretty simple, besides just being time-consuming.

My main focus for this picture was to just capture the light of the sun through a piece of glass. I didn’t know if it would turn out right, but I like the outcome. The lines of the rays of the sun in the background and the shadows of trees and brush lurking up make this picture contrasting and unique, the colors of  blue and gauzy green-black tones make the photo stand out as well. There isn’t really a message I was trying to tell with this one. I just liked the picture.

This is another photo I took and made grainy and morbid-like. I picked this picture because of its blurriness. I think it makes the picture better, by making the light coming from the background and giving it a lot of shadows. There’s almost a horizontal line that fades from the bottom full of shadow to the top full of light. The yellow-green tint that’s appears on the photo helps add a morbid mood to the picture, what I was trying to do. The main focus of this picture was to recognize the oddness and awkwardness of this picture.

Some of my current photos are spread from faded-like objects in unusual places, and body maneuvering-type pictures. That’s mostly what I like capturing in a photo. For this particular photo, it’s a girl up against a wall, covering her face with a frame. I was trying to convey a sense of strict stillness with an obsolete mood. Like you’re trying to stop the world for a moment. There’s almost a morbid mood to the outcome of the pictures I’ve been taking lately.

This picture is some-what distilled and grainy. I made this in Photoshop and I think it turned out well. The body language is very settled and still. The light beaming off of the brick wall background helps the eye go straight to the main focal point. The repetition of the brick pattern also helps direct the eye. As well as the colors; I chose to fade the background to help intensify the colors of the dress. Overall I think the angles and patterns help make this picture one that I like.
